3 Dec 06: Cyclo-Cross training continues on Wednesday evenings at Stevenage during the winter months. This is suitable for both keen ‘cross riders and those with MTBs who want to do some off-season fitness training. The sessions are mainly conditioning based with some skills development for those that need/want it.

The sessions run at Fairlands Valley Park, Six Hills Way, Stevenage. There is loads of room in the park so rider numbers are not limited. There is plenty of street light overspill in the park plus cycle paths we can use to warm up on. Meet at the main car park. Training starts at 7pm, be ready to go at 7pm as we will use different areas of the park. Bring training shoes for running in as well as your cycling shoes. Bring plenty to drink. The sessions will finish around 8.30pm. The cost is £4 and £3 for Under 18’s.

18 Nov 06: Results are posted from today's flat but tough League round 9 Redgrave Cross. Senior race winner Shaun Aldous asked us to thank all helpers and scorers, particularly those who are always there, week in week out.

18 Nov 06: Next weekend's scheduled League round 10 at Hertford has been cancelled. The course is waterlogged and consequently the landowner has withdrawn permission for the race.

18 Oct 06: A few items were left behind at the CTC Rough Stuff ride last Sunday. A water bottle was found on the trail early on in the ride and a Giro helmet and gloves were left in the hall. If they're yours, please contact Pete Whelan.

12 Oct 06: Nathan Miller of Ipswich BC is running cyclo-cross training sessions every Wednesday evening throughout the winter from 7-8pm at Valley Road, off Norwich Road, Ipswich. Cost is £1 per rider. Park on first right at top of Valley Road, opposite the flats. Meet at park benches for Prompt 7pm Start. Course is lit by street lights.

The session includes intervals, pyramid sets, skill work on and off the bike and running. It caters for 12 year olds and upwards, any level of rider. Mountain bikes and Novices welcome.

3 Oct 06: Results from XRT's League round 3 at Chantry Park are now posted.

28 Sep 06: Please use the London Road (A1214) entrance for this weekend's race at Chantry Park. Race HQ is the cricket pavillion within the park. The race detail page has a map reference added. There will be a slight delay getting results onto the web this week - expect them by Tuesday morning.

28 Sep 06: League round 4 at Foxhall is now a category B race. That means the event facilities are of a higher standard and there are more national ranking points on offer.

21 Aug 06: Sorry for the delay but the 2006-7 League calendar is now available. New for this year, National Trophy round 2 in Ipswich is also a counting event for the League. This event is pre-entry only so visit the British Cycling website for more details if you want to ride. If you notice any errors or omissions in the calendar, please contact the webmaster.

21 Aug 06: We're now taking entries for the League. You get a discount on League race entry fees so it's worth joining even if you only plan to do a few events. We need to receive your completed entry form and payment at least 7 days before the first race you intend to ride so don't delay.

15 Feb 06: Cate and Will Meadows have sent us a pleasing message: "Will and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the Eastern Region Cyclo Cross League for giving us such a warm welcome. Will started the season as an absolute novice and I struggled to learn about the new sport he had chosen. Throughout the season we have been given endless amounts of advice and mechanical help at all of the races. Many riders and their supporters have helped us in many ways. This enabled Will to have a much more successful first season than he would have done without their kindness. You are a friendly lot in cyclo-cross. Cheers."

Lotus have indicated that the track may be available for cycle use in the evenings between May and July this year. 12 Feb 06: Results are available from today's light hearted but keenly contested Madison. The Harris twins "Bomber" and "Monkey" might have been in with a chance in this prestigious event but on the penultimate lap all teams except for them were credited with an extra lap. The judges were later heard commenting on the exceptionally large bunch that passed through the line within the space of a second. Thanks to Carol Jeckell for presenting the League prizes, Mick Hearn of Ipswich Bicycle Club for acting as MC and of course the EADT for providing the prizes.

9 Feb 06: The list of League prize winners is now posted. Prize presentation will take place after the End of Season Madison. Remember: you must turn up in person to collect your prize - no attendance, no prize.
